At least two tankers<\/strong> were targeted by vessels linked to the Revolutionary Guards<\/strong>, according to initial reports, and sound documents<\/strong> of the crews’ communications were recorded. <\/p>\n

A Indian tanker<\/strong> came under fire and issued a danger signal<\/strong>. Shortly afterwards, Reuters<\/strong> reported that two commercial vessels said they were shot at in transit. <\/p>\n

In the first audio, a tanker captain is heard saying: “You gave us permission to move, why are you hitting us?”. In the second, a loud protest and call for help<\/strong> is recorded, while gunfire<\/strong> can be heard in the background. <\/p>\n

Confirmation from the British Army<\/strong> <\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n

<\/strong>The British armed forces<\/strong> have confirmed the incident, noting that two vessels of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard<\/strong> opened fire on a tanker passing through the area. <\/p>\n

UKMTO<\/strong> said it received a report of a ship being attacked by “two armed vessels” linked to Iran. As noted, there was no previous warning<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Despite the incident, the crew and ship are safe<\/strong>, with no further details given on the identity or destination of the vessel. <\/p>\n
