“I’m not interested in going toe-to-toe with Trump<\/b>,” said Pope Leo IV<\/b> after being attacked by the president of the United States <\/b>over the war in Iran<\/b>. <\/p>\n
Pope Leo IV, speaking to reporters on the plane carrying him to Angola, Africa, stressed: “The speeches I read here in Africa were in many cases written two weeks ago,<\/b> long before the American president commented on my person and the message of peace I am promoting<\/b>. And yet, some interpreted them as if I wanted to get into a new confrontation with the president, which is not something I am interested in.” <\/p>\n
“Continue on our course, continue to preach the message of the Gospel, to promote fraternity<\/b>,” Pope Leo IV stressed.<\/p>\n
Before departing Cameroon for Angola, at a Mass which he celebrated at the military airport in Yaound\u00e9, Leo underlined: “The Church, so many times, in her navigation through the centuries, has encountered storms and contrary winds<\/b>. It is what we feel when we think we are sinking, when we are overcome by opposing forces, when everything seems dark and we feel alone and weak. But it is not so. Jesus is with us, always, stronger than any force of evil.”<\/p>\n
