The occupation of the land area of the passenger ship the port of Mytilene<\/b>.<\/p>\n

With the intervention of the port director of Mytilene and the police director of Lesvos<\/b>, a small group of cattle farmers who were at that time at the port to leave since such a small number of protesters did not justify the occupation of the site.<\/b>As a result, the farmers left and the unloading of the trucks with goods on the ship began immediately, followed by the supply of the market with the products necessary for its operation.<\/p>\n

The opening of the port of Mytilene was mentioned by Minister of Rural Development and Food, Margaritis Schinas<\/b>, during the kick-off meeting for the consultation on the new Common Agricultural Policy<\/b> (CAP) 2028-2034, which is taking place in the framework of the “National and Regional Partnership Plan”.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister described the development at the port as positive, noting that the gradual restoration of its operation is an indication that the de-escalation can be achieved through understanding and joint effort.<\/b> He also stressed that the situation in Lesvos remains challenging, as – he said – it isa “great and coordinated battle”is underway, with the mobilization of all available resources and forces.<\/p>\n

Mr. Schinas stressed the need for cooperation between the actors involved, underlining that in conditions of crisis there is no room for tensions or moves that do not contribute to solving problems.<\/b> As he said, only through coordinated actions can a common ground be formed and the complex issues that have arisen can be effectively addressed.<\/p>\n

“In Lesvos we are fighting a great and coordinated battle, mobilising all the resources and forces we have. And again I want to take this opportunity to welcome the opening of the port of Mytilene this morning. It is a positive development. It shows that only with the cooperation of all stakeholders we will find a solution and that cries have no solution to offer to such complex and acute problems<\/b>“, Mr Schinas said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
