In favour of waiving the immunity<\/b> of MEPs<\/b>, Anna Efthymiou<\/b>, on OPEKEPE<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The New Democracy MP Anna Efthymiou<\/b> expressed her intention to vote in favour<\/b> of lifting the immunity of MPs<\/b>, stressing that this is an institutionally necessary procedure<\/b>.<\/p>\n

As she said, this stance is also linked to the fact that the MPs involved have requested the lifting of their immunity<\/b>, in order for the case to be examined by the Justice<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Ethymiou <\/b>underlined that it is important that the cases are judged by the “natural judge”, so that no shadows remain and transparency is ensured<\/b>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, he noted that this way prevents the political exploitation of the case by the opposition<\/b>, leaving points for “working<\/b>“.<\/p>\n

Finally, he pointed out that some of the charges – as he said – “are not so substantiated” on a legal level<\/b>.<\/p>\n
