A Greek-owned ship bearing a Liberian flag,<\/strong> a href=”https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/ploio”>was struck 15 nautical miles northwest of the coast of Oman.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

<\/strong>According to safety company Diaplous<\/strong>, the master of the “EPAMINONDAS”<\/strong> (IMO 9153862), Liberian-flagged and managed by Maersk, reported that a Revolutionary Guards<\/b> approached the vessel without prior communication by radio and then opened fire.<\/p>\n

The ship had sailed from the port of Jebel<\/strong> Ali<\/strong> in the United Arab Emirates<\/strong> bound for Murda<\/strong> in India,<\/strong>at a time when the security of navigation in the region remains extremely fragile amid heightened geopolitical tensions.<\/p>\n

The attack caused severe damage to the bridge<\/b>of the ship, while all crew members are safe, according to the same report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The British Maritime Safety Agency UKMTO<\/strong> also said earlier that there was no fire on board the ship and all crew members are unharmed. <\/p>\n
