The Bloomberg<\/b> reports that Greece<\/b> is returning<\/b> to a trajectory of stability<\/b>, using fiscal surpluses for support measures worth \u20ac500 million<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Greece<\/b> is returning to economic normality<\/b>, Bloomberg<\/b> notes, noting that the country, after a decade-long crisis in public debt<\/b>, is now pursuing fiscal discipline<\/b> and strengthening its credit rating<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The paper links this to the recent \u20ac500 million support measures<\/a> announced by the prime minister<\/b> Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/strong>, which exploit the fiscal space created by the economy’s outperformance.<\/p>\n

According to Eurostat and ELSTAT<\/b> data, Greece<\/b> recorded a surplus of 1.7% of GDP for 2025<\/strong>, significantly exceeding the 0.6% target.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth consecutive year of overperformance<\/strong>, which, it noted, allows the government to proceed with targeted aid to citizens.<\/p>\n

Despite improving macroeconomic indicators<\/b>, the high cost of living remains a key challenge. Price pressures, intensified by developments in the war with Iran, keep affordability at the top of people’s concerns.<\/p>\n

The prime minister stressed that the measures are the best we can do without upsetting the economic balance<\/b>.<\/p>\n
