Two trains<\/b> collided today in Denmark.<\/p>\n

The a total of 17 people were injured, with four people in critical<\/b> condition, Ritzau news agency reported, citing health services.<\/p>\n

The two trains collided this morning between Hilerrod and Kagerup,<\/b> about 40 kilometers north of Copenhagen, police and emergency services said. “There has been a serious rail accident. Two trains collided and police and emergency services are on the scene,” local police said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“We received the alert at exactly 6:30 am,” Tim Simmonssen, a spokesman for the emergency services, told AFP. “All passengers have been evacuated from the train and therefore no one is trapped<\/b>,” he added.<\/p>\n

The injured were taken to hospital by ambulances and helicopters, the fire service said in X.<\/p>\n

Rail accidents are rare in Denmark, but in 2019, a passenger train collision resulted in eight deaths and 16 injuries.<\/p>\n

In August 2025, one person was killed after a train collided with a farm vehicle.<\/p>\n

Public broadcaster DR broadcast footage of two yellow and grey trains, both with visible damage to their front ends, stalled in a wooded area.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
