The Irene Agapidaki reported on the spending increase<\/b> to 250 million, digitization vaccinations<\/b>and the intense debate about the shingles vaccine in Greece<\/b>.<\/p>\n

With the focus on prevention and the sustainability of the health<\/b>, Deputy Minister of Health Irene Agapidaki<\/b> highlighted the pivotal role of vaccinations<\/b> in Greece<\/b>, noting that they are a strategic choice with a strong social and economic footprint<\/b>, while underlining the continuous strengthening of financing<\/b>, modernization through digital tools<\/b> and improving citizens’ access to critical vaccines<\/b>, at a time when confidence in public health and tackling misinformation<\/b> are at the focus of public dialogue<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Vaccines and vaccinations in Greece<\/b> were described as a high return investment by the deputy minister of health, Irene Agapidaki<\/b>, speaking at a related panel at the Delphi Economic Forum<\/b>, <\/b>according to ProroThema.gr<\/p>\n

We officially and reliably register vaccines in children<\/h3>\n

“We have a closed budget for vaccines and they have no clawback (automatic reimbursements),” Ms Agapidaki noted, stressing that the state’s expenditure has increased to 250 million. <\/p>\n

According to the Deputy Minister of Health, the National Vaccination Programme is one of the most advanced in Europe. Also, she said, the children’s health booklet has been digitized, so “we have an official and reliable record of vaccines in children.”<\/p>\n

First vaccine is that of shingles
<\/h3>\n

The first vaccine that people ask for during Mobile Health Teams (MHTG) visits is, Ms Agapidaki said, that of shingles, as they have heard of others who have had it and it is a very painful disease.<\/p>\n

In the context of the trust that the State is building around vaccines, the Deputy Minister of Health referred to the office against fake news created at the EODY.<\/p>\n

“The fight against fake news not only with information but with legal remedies,” she said, adding in relation to trust and the need not to trust what we read on social media, “Trust was not lost with the pandemic. We have gone to the mobile relationship. We need to go back to the relationship with people.”<\/p>\n
