No, we’re not kidding. Maybe we’re satirising a bit – lest we get a twist – but the former chairman of PASOK<\/b> and former vice-chairman of the NW-PASOK<\/b>appeared to know what will happen in the next elections.<\/b><\/p>\n
Speaking at the Forum<\/b> in Delphi,Evangelos Venizelos<\/b> estimated that “the electorate in post-election<\/b> always makes the same choice twice – there is no third mandate”. Okay, let’s say that Andreas Papandreou<\/b> got a third mandate after losing the second, and by a wide margin, regardless of whether he had taken care to saw off Konstantinos Mitsotakis’ self-reliance.<\/p>\n
Let’s look at the facts. What exactly is the electoral college;<\/b> that is, how does the Greek citizen vote? He sits there and thinks “oh, I voted for him twice, I’m not voting for him a third time” why doesn’t that happen in post-opposition<\/b>?<\/p>\n
So, citizens arrive at the ballot box<\/b> and vote for something other than what they voted for in two or three accurately<\/b> – election battles and decide to give their vote<\/b> to someone else regardless of what he stands for and why he is qualified?<\/p>\n
Will the citizen-voters choose one of the opposition parties<\/b>, so as not to give a third mandate<\/b> and what’s to be done is to be done? Will they choose those who want Mitsotakis<\/b> to “go away and we’ll see”? Because this “we’ll see” and the experiments brought Alexis Tsipras<\/b> in 2015, who today appears ready to reclaim the popular vote.<\/p>\n
So the citizens will not sit back and see if they want stability and security,<\/b> perspective and growth and will choose fudge<\/b>, the unknown with a boat of… hope (again) for the voyage to Ithaca<\/b> – where the crew and those who were in those boats never got anywhere near it – because of… history.<\/p>\n
Also, they will seek solutions in multi-party partnerships<\/b> such as the one PASOK is pursuing with Syriza<\/b>-if they are in Parliament-, Alexis Tsipras and a new party, even Zoe Konstantopoulou<\/b> who will be called upon to make decisions in the midst of crises and lead the country to turn the page.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, citizens have shown in the last few years<\/b> that they are not carried away by the Sirens<\/b> of populism<\/b> and in any case, traditions are meant to be broken and the rule<\/b> always has exceptions. Especially in cases where they have the ability to compare and judge.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
