a href=”https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/ayxisi”>increase <\/b>9.8% in the disposable income of households <\/b>and non-profit institutions <\/b>serving households<\/b> in the second quarter of last year compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, from EUR 38.77 billion to EUR 42.56 billion. <\/p>\n
At the same time, final consumer spending<\/b> increased<\/b> by 5.3%, from \u20ac41.7 billion to \u20ac43.9 billion. While, the savings rate, defined as gross savings to gross disposable income, was -3.2% in Q2 2025, compared to -7.6% in Q2 2024.<\/p>\n
This is according to the quarterly nonfinancial accounts<\/b> of institutional sectors released by ELSTAT<\/b>, according to which:<\/p>\n
The private investment<\/b> (gross fixed capital investment) of non-financial companies<\/b> amounted to \u20ac5.12 billion. The sector’s investment, defined as gross fixed capital formation to gross value added, was 24.8% compared with 25.4% in Q2 2024.<\/p>\n
At the same time, a deficit in the external balance<\/b> of goods and services of \u20ac5.74 billion was recorded, compared with a deficit of \u20ac6.63 billion recorded in Q2 2024. Imports of goods and services decreased by EUR 0.62 billion, while exports of goods and services increased by EUR 0.26 billion.<\/p>\n
The General Government<\/b> sector reported net borrowing<\/b> of EUR 0.54 billion, compared with net borrowing of EUR 1.05 billion in Q2 2024. In addition, the second quarter of 2025 recorded a surplus in the external balance of primary income, current and capital transfers of \u20ac1.81 billion, compared with a surplus of \u20ac1.47 billion recorded in the corresponding quarter of last year.<\/p>\n
As a result of the above, the overall economy<\/b> experienced a net foreign borrowing<\/b> of \u20ac3.93 billion. In the corresponding quarter of 2024, net borrowing stood at \u20ac5.16 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
