On a number of issues, from OPEKEPE<\/strong> to the tax reduction<\/strong>, the Government Spokesman, Pavlos Marinakis, reported from the Delphi Forum. <\/p>\n

Specifically, in the context of the 11th Delphi Economic Forum<\/strong> taking place in Delphi from April 22-25, Mr. Marinakis said that the government is in principle positive to any tax cut, noting “we are cutting as many taxes as the economy can bear<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n

Focus on business at the TIF<\/h3>\n

As he explained, we have another 200 million euros<\/strong> to give for 2026 and about \u20ac1 billion<\/strong> for 2027. As he pointed out, the upcoming DIF, following last year’s one on taxpayer relief, will focus mainly on businesses<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

He went on to explain that the government did not want to become another government that would base its re-election on the “backs” of young children. We are a government, he added, that values the legacy<\/strong> that we will leave. “As important as it is that we have taken the average wage to 1,500 euros<\/strong>, it is equally important that we are among the first countries in reducing public debt<\/strong>,” he said. <\/p>\n

The “bloody surpluses” and “problematic” allowances <\/h3>\n

The government spokesman argued that there are two categories of allowances and surpluses. “If the surpluses are created by increased taxes, as the previous government of Mr Tsipras did, then you take 10 from one pocket and give another pocket two. These are bloody surpluses<\/strong> and problematic benefits,” he added, and went on to say “ours come, he pointed out, from creating 600,000 new jobs<\/strong>, tackling tax evasion<\/strong> and growing the economy.” <\/p>\n

OPEKEPE and AADE<\/h3>\n<\/h3>\n

Asked about the issue of OPEKEPE<\/strong>, he recalled that the 13 members of the South African Parliament.D. asked for the waiver of immunity to prove their innocence and not because they were guilty. At the same time, he noted that he did not want to speak disparagingly about the case, while stressing that it was the ND government that made the major transition to the ADEA<\/strong>. “Although it was delayed, it is historic. The transition to the AADE puts an end to the phenomenon of phoning the MP to ask for a bigger refund,” he said. <\/p>\n

European Public Prosecutor’s Office and elections<\/h3>\n

For the European Public Prosecutor’s Office<\/strong>, he clarified that the government supported, supports and will continue to support the functioning of the judiciary – both the Greek and the European judiciary. Regarding the renewal of the mandate of the three Greeks in the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, he clarified that it is a decision of the competent authorities, namely the Judicial Council. <\/p>\n

As for the timing of the next parliamentary elections<\/strong>, he pointed out that only the prime minister can know and has repeatedly stressed that they will be held in 2027<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

“We will not sit at the same table” <\/h3>\n

End, on Alexis Tsipras, he said that we are waiting for him to announce his party and his programme, “although so far we are seeing one of the same thing”. However, he made it clear that ND will not sit at the same table with either Tsipras’ party or any other party that came from Tsipras. <\/p>\n
