Strident criticism of the PASOK is expressed through a post<\/b> circulating on Twitter by the user “Winston Smith”, attempting to deconstruct the narrative of the so-called “democratic party” in relation to the Independent Authorities<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

This post cites a number of historical references, arguing that the first major authority, the Competition Commission, was established in 1977 under New Democracy, followed by a period of PASOK rule (1981-1989) with no new authorities established. The following section discusses the evolution of the Competition Commission and its course under different governments. <\/p>\n

The post states: <\/p>\n

“Lies again. PASOK is evolving into a new SYRIZA, but not for fools: for the historically illiterate. Here’s what we have: – 1st Independent Authority: the Competition Commission, in 1977, under ND. Established by the historic Law 703\/77 to bring us in line with EEC law. <\/p>\n

This was followed by the 1981-89 PASOK octet, where no independent authority was established. “Great Democratic Party” – 2nd independent authority: the National Competition Commission. It was established during the Tzannetakis government and had an excellent President, the great jurist, Professor Dagtopoulos. In 1993, PASOK won the elections and immediately downgraded it to an administrative department on the proposal of Akis Tsochatzopoulos. “The third independent authority: the EETT, established under the New Democracy Party in 1992. Purpose (at the time): supervision of postal services and telecommunications. – 4th independent authority: the AESEP. First established by PASOK, only 17 years late!!!! Its purpose: to clean up the public sector. It was an initiative of the great Anastasios Peponis, but it also marked his political end: immediately after its passage, Peponis was forced to resign and was never elected as a member of parliament again…! “Huge Democratic Party”; – Subsequent authorities: the HPA on personal data in 1997 and the RAE in 1999, both due to the incorporation of EU law, thus out of necessity. To summarise, the ‘glorious history’ of the relationship between the ‘democratic party’ and the Independent Authorities is as follows: 1: From 1977 to 1993 they did not establish any independent authority, and they also downgraded the NCA. 2: In 1994 they established the NSC and immediately afterwards destroyed its initiator because he destroyed their plans for favouritism. 3: End of glorious history.
