Two visits <\/b>in just a few days. Two completely different reactions<\/b>. And somewhere in there it becomes clear how political narratives are set up and how collapse<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Laura Covesi came to Delphi<\/b>, spoke openly and raised issues that do exist. But not in the way that some were quick to present. For what followed was more reminiscent of a communication storm<\/b> than a serious discussion. Suddenly, the visit<\/b>was seen as “hell”, “rap”, “condemnation”<\/b>. As if many were waiting for this moment to use it politically.<\/p>\n
Only here things get confusing. Because Covesi herself referred to regulations<\/b> that didn’t come up yesterday. The law <\/b>that caused her so much consternation was the one that allows someone to return money from a fraud and escape the consequences, but that law<\/b> is not a product of the current government<\/b>. It has a name<\/b> and political identity<\/b> from the past. And this is where the embarrassment<\/b> begins.<\/p>\n
The PASOK<\/b>, which is currently flying the flag of catharsis, easily forgets what it voted for. And Evangelos Venizelos<\/b>, who easily talks about institutions and the rule of law<\/b>, is hard to disconnect from the legal framework he served. It is not a detail. It’s the substance of the discussion.<\/p>\n
And while all this was bubbling up day by day, the second visit came. Emanuel Macron<\/b> in Athens<\/b>. There things were much clearer. No ambiguity, no diplomatic evasion.<\/b> One sentence was enough: “Do what you have to do if your national sovereignty is threatened and we will be here.”<\/p>\n
This is not a simple statement. It is a clear guarantee<\/b> from a nuclear power<\/b> at a time when the region is boiling. And yet, the issue didn’t “lift” as much as one might have expected. It didn’t become a first issue with the same intensity. It didn’t generate the same political buzz.<\/p>\n
The comparison is almost implicit<\/b>. On the one hand, hyperbole for something convenient. On the other, silence for something that carries real weight.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day, what remains is not outcries<\/b>. It’s the facts. And the facts say that Greece<\/b> is strengthening its position and expanding defense agreements<\/b> with substance.
