{"id":2842,"date":"2026-04-27T20:09:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T17:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=2842"},"modified":"2026-04-27T20:09:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T17:09:00","slug":"intervention-by-vassilis-kikilias-on-illegal-works-in-a-natura-area-in-oropos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=2842","title":{"rendered":"Intervention by Vassilis Kikilias on illegal works in a Natura area in Oropos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">The <b>Minister of Shipping<\/b> has mobilised <b>prosecuting authorities<\/b> following <b>complaints<\/b> of unauthorised filling in a protected area <b>Natura<\/b> of <b>Oropos<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Instant legal proceedings<\/b> were launched on the orders of the <b>Minister of Shipping<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"76\">Vassilis Kikilias<\/b>, in order to investigate the case of illegal interference in <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"156\">Oropos<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">Following a branded complaint of <b>fouling in the marine area of<\/b> <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"228\">Alykes<\/b>, which belongs to the <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"262\">Natura<\/b> network, the minister announced the <b>initiation of a preliminary investigation by the Coast Guard and the notification of the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">According to the official briefing, <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"57\">illegal dredging<\/b> of significant dimensions was detected at the site, extending <b>60 metres to the seaward side<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">The mobilisation of the authorities is universal, as the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"229\">Land Registry<\/b> and the local Police Department have already been involved to hold them accountable.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">In his message, <b>Vassilis Kikilias clarified the actions being taken<\/b>: <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">&#8220;On the occasion of a complaint by a private individual and publications about illegal execution of a project in the marine area of the Port Department of Oropou (Alykes area), an embankment of 60m x 8m dimensions was found on the sea side. The competent Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office was informed and a preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Port Authority. At the same time, the Real Estate Service and the Oropou Police Station were informed.
