“Comedy” seems to be attempting to raise PASOK <\/b>against the government, with the bugging<\/b>, in order to deal with what Charilaou Trikoupis claims is an “institutional diversion”.<\/p>\n

In the same vein, Theodoros Margaritis<\/b> proposes to organize a “mass rally<\/b>” for the “defence of Democracy<\/b>“.<\/p>\n

With an obvious tendency to dramatize, Mr. Margaritis draws on historical references, citing movements<\/b> on 114<\/b>, to conclude that today… its place is taken by Article 120.<\/b> “It’s time for a strong mass movement,” he stresses, calling for a dynamic intervention in developments, in a comparison that for many seems at least exaggerated.<\/p>\n

Remember that Article 120<\/b> of the Constitution provides that “the observance of the Constitution is left to the patriotism<\/b> of the Greeks”, who “are entitled and obliged to resist by all means” anyone who attempts to break it down by “violence”, a reference that, at this particular juncture, gives a more dramatic tone to the call.<\/p>\n

In his post, Theodore Margaritis<\/b> calls the initiative for a commission of inquiry<\/b> into the wiretapping “correct” and calls for a blockade<\/b> of progressive forces. However, he insists that institutional moves are not enough, but that the “intervention of the popular factor<\/b>” is also required, through a large rally that, he suggests, will be reminiscent of other, more “heroic” times.<\/p>\n

“The initiative of PASOK\/KINAL to set up a committee of inquiry in Parliament on the wiretapping scandal is a good move. And it is also useful to have the support of all progressive forces in this direction. However, in addition to institutional initiatives (such as a motion of no-confidence if necessary), there is a need for direct intervention by the popular factor.<\/p>\n

Compa\u00f1eros of PASOK, comrades and friends from all parties of the Democratic Opposition, it is important to organize a MASS COLLAGERY aimed at defending democracy. Once upon a time in this country there were great historic mobilizations of the people and youth for 114, for the defence of the Constitution. Now we have Article 120. In any case, on the occasion of the wiretapping and surveillance we see the dark power games in the judiciary. It is therefore time for a strong mass movement to intervene dynamically in the developments. Not a step back!”<\/p>\n
