Because the prosecutor’s decision didn’t sit well with Nikos Androulakis. Even press conference he held, just as he did after the decision of the Single Member Court of First Instance, except that this time it only had dithyrambic comments since it served the narrative of himself and the opposition even though on the merits it did not contain evidence sufficient to convince that apart from the preliminary conviction of four private individuals for illegal spying software, political figures were involved.

The truth is that the prosecutor’s decision sent bowls of opposition parties and of course the president of PASOK who has built his entire opposition narrative around this case. He went so far as to claim that this decision “abuses the sense of justice” as if citizens are concerned with the automatization of the opposition leader.

Typical of the overhang in which PASOK finds itself is what was said in response to a question about whether Nikos Androulakis trusts the judiciary.

PRESIDENTIALIST: Do you trust the Greek judiciary?

ANDROULAKIS: I have said this before. My trust in the leadership of the judiciary has been shaken. This is not today, I have said it before. And I said it because we know all too well what has happened in this dark case. But I have a duty to trust Justice and the institutions because there must be a faith in the institutions by the Greek people. This does not mean that we should not criticise the decisions of the judiciary. Let us not try to weigh things up now. I say it again: criticism of the decisions of the judiciary is not an attack on the judiciary. It is not an attack on Justice. We have a democratic right and responsibility and duty to evaluate the decisions of the judiciary. There is an organised attempt at confusion here.

Have I ever publicly blackmailed the European Public Prosecutor? Did I put Mr Rammo and Mr Menudakos in the meat grinder? Did I personally attack, discredit, and organise character assassination of a judge? Don’t look for that here, look for that in Maximus. We have a duty to criticize, and we will criticize the decisions of the judiciary. As in any other democracy. Unless some people want democracy to decline, institutions to decline, the rule of law to decline, the separation of powers to decline, but not to speak out. To remain silent. See the aberration and the decline and clap our hands. Of course not. As the opposition and as democrats, we have a duty to criticise, to speak our minds and to stand in the way of the decadence and the diversion of the Grand Maximus.

Let’s forget the attacks launched against Adonis Georgiades for criticizing the documents that reached the Parliament and not the decisions of the judiciary. Let’s see what ultimately constitutes an attack and what is toxic. Because to say that he has no confidence in the judiciary, but he has confidence in the judiciary because citizens should have confidence in the institution, not only doesn’t make sense, it shows the confusion that prevails.

In any case, of course, Nikos Androulakis made sure to attack Kyriakos Mitsotakis in order to throw the ball elsewhere since he basically said that the officials of the Justice system are being treated like cattle by the government, essentially deconstructing the institution that he says he doesn’t want to be deconstructed.

Once again the president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, attacks Justice and its leadership at a time when he says the opposite.
The …

[3

post-2938","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics
["GET
