According to the regulation, the <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"190\">Greek State<\/b> waives <b>the right to pursue legal remedies and stops pending proceedings involving monetary damages<\/b> for <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"336\">mental anguish, moral damages and physical injuries<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">This intervention comes to &#8220;button up&#8221; the institutional framework for cases with <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"461\">special social importance<\/b>, which was proposed by the Vice President of the Government, <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"545\">Kostis Hatzidakis<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Government officials point out that<b> this move follows previous similar actions<\/b>:<\/p>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"5\">\n<li>The earlier letter of Mr. <b>Kyranakis<\/b> to <b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"49\">OSE<\/b> for <b>waiving compensation<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>The <b>withdrawal of an appeal<\/b> for the tragedy at <b data-path-to-node=\"5,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"41\">Mati<\/b> by Mr. <b>Pierrakakis<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The commitment to <b data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"16\">moral vindication<\/b> of <b>the victims<\/b> without years of litigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\"><b>The new provision applies both to cases in progress and those for which decisions have already been issued<\/b>. By limiting State intervention exclusively to the <b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"195\">compensation<\/b>, the aim is to support the relatives without neglecting the protection of the public interest.
