The reality, however, is much more cynical, as the former prime minister is reportedly treating his former party not as a valuable dowry, but as a plummet that refuses to be detached from him.

There is a prevailing view among his entourage that a dissolution by default is perhaps the ideal scenario, as the figures for the new party he is planning do not show the required momentum as the shadow of Koumoundourou also falls heavily over his moves. In this context, political observers are not mincing their words, referring to an attitude that borders on political ingratitude.

Alexis Tsipras seems to have distanced himself from executives who once constituted a “vanguard” and supported him in the wildest storms of power. For example, Paulos Polakis and other fellow travellers of the difficult years are now on the list of “undesirables” or at least those who do not fit into the new, more “iconic” image the former prime minister wants to craft. The strategy of his staff is clear and tough: no coordinated transition, no agreement with the institutions or collectives of Syriza is foreseen. The door of the new body will not be opened collectively, but only for specific individuals, and that after… evaluation.

The tactic of “single-handedly” acts as a kind of political filter, through which A. Tsipras wants to pick his players one by one. It is a move that deeply hurts the morale of those who remained on board when the ship started to make water, hoping that their historic leader would return to lead them to a safe harbour. Now, they see themselves treated as “expendable material”of an era that its originator wants to forget. Socrates Famelos, on the other hand, finds himself trapped in a role of… cleanser.

Despite his moves to maintain a serious image for SYRIZA, his attempt to hand over the keys runs into a wall of indifference. Nikos Pappas, speaking to a TV station, said among other things, “Alexis Tsipras made a choice with which we disagreed. SYRIZA has its collective decisions. We will fight for an electoral alliance. The time has come for Socrates Famellos to speak, as he did with Nikos Kotzias, and with Louka Katseli, and with Petros Kokkalis, and with Alexis Tsipras. SYRIZA is a coordinated party.”

Elsewhere, the former minister said: “I am glad that Alexis Tsipras distanced himself from Giorgos Vassiliadis’s untruthful views on dissolution” and clearly expressed the view that it was a huge mistake for the former prime minister to decide to resign as a member of parliament.

Conditional

The next day is predicted to be even tougher. Tsipras’ refusal to talk institutionally with SYRIZA is not just a tactical disagreement, but a declaration of intent on how he perceives his own political survival. The message is clear and says that anyone who wants to follow should do so by renouncing his recent past and stepping through the crisis of a leader who has decided to “change his skin”, leaving behind those who helped him.

The handing over of the keys, then, by SYRIZA may never be done with glory and honor to its former owner who is trying to set up a new shop a few blocks away, hoping any customers will forget his old address.

On the chessboard of the left, the players not only do not agree on moves, but even dispute who plays first.
Thus, Socrates …

[3

post-3265","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics
["GET
