{"id":3269,"date":"2026-04-30T07:39:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T04:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=3269"},"modified":"2026-04-30T07:39:00","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T04:39:00","slug":"nikos-androulakis-new-italian-and-tomorrows-new-new-and-of-a-new-culture-attack-on-the-leadership-of-the-judiciary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=3269","title":{"rendered":"Nikos Androulakis: new, Italian and tomorrow&#8217;s&#8230; new, new, and of a new culture, attack on the leadership of the judiciary."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nikos Androulakis maintains for himself the role of <b>public prosecutor<\/b> by criticizing everyone.<\/p>\n<p>Born in a society dominated by the sectoral and green guards, when his party controlled the critical joints of power (exemplified by Tsipras), <b>Nikos Androulakis<\/b> is finding it difficult to adapt to the realities of modern times. <\/p>\n<p>This is why <b>from his statement about respect for judges, the separation of powers and the struggle for a quality democracy, until the attack on the Supreme Court, not even two twenty-four hours passed.<\/b> &#8220;The leadership of the Supreme Court has insulted and undermined the authority of the judiciary itself,&#8221; he said, adding emphatically, &#8220;Another episode of the devaluation of the rule of law and the separation of powers has been played out,&#8221; only to receive a response from the <b>government spokesman<\/b>. &#8220;<b>Mr. Androulakis, respect for the Justice and its decisions is not optional. It is imperative<\/b>. Respect, at last, your institutional role. And realize that any attack on the judiciary is problematic behavior. And when this attack comes personally from the leader of the official opposition, it constitutes dangerous behaviour for democracy and the rule of law,&#8221; Pavlos Marinakis commented. <\/p>\n<p>Only in the face of political deadlocks perhaps the tactics of the authoritarians &#8211; at a time when the media complex of Taurus was giving change in favour of <b>PASOK<\/b> and did not hesitate to smear any potential opponent &#8211; seem like useful solutions. <b>A cover story and some fake news did the job.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Nikos Androulakis, of course, seems to go one step further: <b>keeping for himself the role of public prosecutor by criticizing everyone.<\/b> Passing the message that at the end of the road they are preparing&#8230; <b>Public courts with him as judge<\/b>, while the entire Mitsotakisgovernment will sit in the dock. <\/p>\n<p>He did not hesitate to argue that the <b>prosecutor<\/b> of the Supreme Court is controlled by the government, <b>adopting exactly the tactics of the authoritarians<\/b> and forcing the health minister, <b>Adonis Georgiadis<\/b>, to remind him that, by law of the Mitsotakis government, from 2024, the judges and prosecutors themselves in plenary session vote in a secret process on who they wish to promote to that position. &#8220;And Mr. Tzavellas was elected first in votes by a margin among both judges and prosecutors. <b>The government simply appointed the one they themselves chose<\/b>,&#8221; Adonis Georgiades said. <\/p>\n<p>According to Pavlos Marinakis, &#8220;candidate judge&#8221; Nikos Androulakis &#8220;is unworthy of the office he holds, because he doesn&#8217;t even know the basics. He said he will appeal by any legal means, is there any legal remedy in the Greek legal system against an act of filing by the prosecutor of the Supreme Court? No, he said something that cannot be done.
