Intense political controversy following the Health Minister’s harsh post about Alexis Tsipras and PASOK<\/b>, on the occasion of the Protomaya in Kaisariani<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The political confrontation<\/b> on social media<\/b> continues in particularly high tones<\/b>, on the reason of a post by Health Minister Adonis Georgiades<\/b> that caused strong reactions in the political scene<\/b>. He commented in accurately on the developments surrounding former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras<\/b> and the imminent establishment of a new party<\/b>, linking his comment to symbolic images from a commemoration event in Kaisariani<\/b>. The post triggered an immediate response from PASOK<\/b>, with Press spokesman Kostas Tsoukalas<\/b> accusing the minister of offensive rhetoric and political targeting, raising the political thermometer<\/b> sharply.<\/p>\n

With a oligoglous but… vitriolic post<\/b>, Adonis Georgiades commented on social media<\/b> in his own way on PASOK’s<\/b> agony<\/b> ahead of the announcement of a new party by Alexis Tsipras<\/b>. <\/p>\n

The comment by Georgiadis<\/h3>\n

“It is obvious that the arrival of @atsipras’ party on the political scene has started to have the first immediate effects! …” the health minister wrote.<\/p>\n

In lieu of another comment, he quoted the photo of PASOK President Nikos Androulakis, accompanied by party MPs Panagiotis Doudoni, Dimitris Manzo and Pavlos Christidis, holding a red carnation to pay tribute to those executed in Kaisariani on May Day.<\/p>\n

The Georgiadis reference apparently refers to the first symbolic gesture Alexis Tsipras made as Prime Minister, in 2015, to visit Kaisariani and lay a red carnation in memory of the 200 people executed by the Nazis. <\/p>\n

The response of Tsoukalas
<\/h3>\n

“Every day the Minister of Health breaks his own records of graphicness with his obsession with PASOK and Nikos Androulakis. He even went so far as to insult the place of sacrifice of the 200 Greek fighters executed by the Nazis,” PASOK press spokesman Costas Tsoukalas said in a statement on Adonis Georgiades’ post.<\/p>\n

“Because we have noticed that he has a weak memory, we remind him that PASOK has laid a wreath at the shooting range of Kaisariani all the years that Nikos Androulakis has been President,” Tsoukalas stressed, adding: “We obviously have a different view of Greek history. When you declared that there were no dead at the Polytechnic and promoted Kostas Plevris’ book that was insulting to the Jews, PASOK was honoring the great patriotic struggles of the Greek people.”<\/p>\n

“Is Mr. Georgiades’ ultimate goal to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the most graphic politician? Shame, if you have any left,” he comments.<\/p>\n
