Access by adults to smoke products, vaping<\/strong> devices<\/strong> and alcohol<\/strong> shows a significant reduction after the new control system was activated. <\/p>\n

The platforms alto.gov.gr<\/strong> and events.gov.gr<\/strong> play a central role, allowing immediate recording and cross-referencing of data, identifying violations in real time. <\/p>\n

More than 88,600 points of sale<\/strong> have already been registered in the digital register. The number of participating businesses exceeds 79,000<\/strong>, a figure that shows the speed of market adaptation. From mini markets<\/strong> and mini markets<\/strong> to bars<\/strong> and liquor stores, the system now covers almost the entire network. <\/p>\n

How the system works<\/h3>\n

The process is clear. Any business that has alcohol<\/strong>, fumigants<\/strong> or steam products<\/strong> must register on the platform. It declares its details and certifies that it meets the legal requirements. <\/p>\n

On completion, a special document with a QR code<\/strong> is issued. The auditing authorities can scan it and immediately confirm the legality of the activity. <\/p>\n

This measure is part of a broader plan to protect minors<\/strong>. The market now operates through a single digital system. <\/p>\n

Registration is mandatory. Those not on the register cannot make sales. In case of violation, even revocation of the license<\/strong> is foreseen. <\/p>\n

General instructions <\/h3>\n

To register on the alto.gov.gr platform for businesses selling tobacco products, it is required: <\/p>\n

    \n
  • Tax Identification Number (TIN), Individual Enterprise or Legal Person<\/li>\n
  • A valid licence for the sale of products, where required<\/li>\n
  • Activity Code Number (ACN).) relevant to the sale of products<\/li>\n
  • Fulfillment of the requirements of the relevant legislation on the protection of minors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Register is compulsory for natural and legal persons who sell and dispose of tobacco products, alcohol and other non-tobacco products. Natural and legal persons who are not registered in the Register are prohibited from selling and disposing of the above products. <\/p>\n

    For registration on the events.gov.gr<\/b> platform for the announcement of private events, the registration is made by the legal representative of the venue where the event will be held, with parallel acceptance by the organizer (client of the event venue) and the signing of an appropriate private agreement. <\/p>\n

    When submitting the declaration, the declaration is timestamped<\/b> by gov.gr. Upon registration of an event, a Private Agreement is created with the client and the registry user as co-signatories in the gov.gr document vault and the event must be confirmed by the client. If the client has registered his\/her details in the EMEP, he\/she is notified by message of the creation of the private agreement to be signed in his\/her mailbox. <\/p>\n

    Users can download the gov.gr document from within the application and are required to have it available for any audit. <\/p>\n

    Note that the transition to a new -institutional- normality, using digital means, comes just 1.5 months after the press conference at the Ministry of Digital Governance, held by the ministers of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, <\/b>Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou,<\/b> Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis,<\/b> and the then Deputy Minister of Health Dimitris Vartzopoulos<\/b>, presenting the “Roadmap and Business Plan for the Universal Implementation of the Ban on the Sale of Tobacco Products and Alcohol to Minors”. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
