Nearly $5 billion<\/strong> has been lost by Iran from sales oil sales, according to the Pentagon<\/strong> estimates, due to the blockade imposed by the US on the region. <\/p>\n

The pressure on the government of Tehran<\/strong> is characterized as particularly intense. <\/p>\n

This blockade, which began on April 13<\/strong>, is a key lever for President Donald Trump<\/strong> to pressure for an end to the conflict. Meanwhile, the talks continue with interruptions and restarts. <\/p>\n

Officials say more than 40 ships<\/strong> have been diverted as they attempted to cross carrying oil<\/strong> or other cargo. <\/p>\n

The “stuck” tankers and the pressure on infrastructure<\/h3>\n

On the Persian Gulf<\/strong> remain 31 tankers<\/strong> with about 53 million barrels<\/strong> of Iranian oil. Their value exceeds $4.8 billion<\/strong>, and two ships have already been seized. <\/p>\n

The onshore storage facilities have reached their limits. Iran<\/strong> is now using old ships as floating tanks. <\/p>\n

Some cargoes are taking longer routes to reach China<\/strong> to avoid possible U.S. interference. This increases costs and transit time. <\/p>\n

Scenarios of “mass exodus” and escalation<\/h3>\n

Analyst Samir Madani<\/strong> notes that there are ways around the blockade. An example is a tanker that moved near Pakistan<\/strong> and India<\/strong>, reaching the Malaka Straits<\/b> where oil is often transhipped to its final destination of China<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

According to him, a coordinated escape attempt is not ruled out: a nightly “big exit<\/strong>” of several ships at once. <\/p>\n
