Terror was struck Saturday morning (2\/5) in Brixton,<\/b>in London by an unknown gunman who opened fire indiscriminately from his car at passers-by.<\/p>\n

The shots injured four people. One 25-year-old<\/strong> is hospitalized in serious condition, while a 21-year-old<\/strong>, a 47-year-old<\/strong> and a 70-year-old<\/strong> bear more minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Police<\/strong>, along with special units, immediately rushed to the scene after calls from area residents.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing to identify the perpetrators<\/h3>\n

No arrests have been made so far. Authorities are continuing to investigate to identify those responsible.<\/p>\n

Police officers were seen searching a grassy area near the Southwyck House<\/strong> housing estate on Coldharbour Lane<\/strong>, where the incident occurred.<\/p>\n

Resident Robert, 40, who did not wish to give his surname, said he believed the incident occurred during a barbecue party.<\/p>\n

The lead investigator, Detective Inspector Alam Bangu, called the incident an “act of indiscriminate violence.”<\/p>\n

“We understand how concerning this incident is for the local community and we want to assure residents that we are working hard to identify those responsible,” he added.<\/p>\n

The police presence in South London<\/strong> is expected to be stepped up in the coming days and an appeal is being made for witnesses or anyone with material to contact the authorities.<\/p>\n
