The President of the Republic, Constantine Tasoulas<\/b>, participates in the 8th Summit<\/b> of the European Political Community, held in Herevan, Armenia.<\/b><\/p>\n
On his arrival, Mr. Tasoulas underlined that “today’s 8th Summit of the European Political Community is taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, at a critical moment for Europe and the world<\/b>. The ongoing conflicts in Ukraine<\/b> and in the Middle East<\/b> continue to put international peace, economic development<\/b> and energy security<\/b> around the world at risk.”<\/p>\n
Also, he stressed that “in this dthreatening environment<\/b>, Europe<\/b>, as a whole, is called upon to seek solutions<\/b> that will promote unity and strategic autonomy<\/b>, with a commitment to the principles of democracy, the rule of law,<\/b> human rights and respect for international law<\/b>“. “In this context, in today’s Summit<\/b> we will have the opportunity to discuss the armouring<\/b> of our common European home<\/b>, our democratic institutions and our critical infrastructure from diverse hybrid threats<\/b> that could put the cohesion of our societies at risk<\/b>,” the President of the Republic added.<\/p>\n
“We will exchange views on the need to strengthen the European economy<\/b>, mainly through energy<\/b> and technological connectivity projects. Greece, moreover, aspires to play a critical role<\/b> in this area, with the development of infrastructure, such as the Direct Corridor<\/b>, which will make it a hub for the import and transport of energy<\/b> and other products to the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe<\/b>,” he said: “I therefore look forward to constructive discussions<\/b>, which will contribute to deepening cooperation and promoting peace<\/b> for the benefit of all the countries of Europe and their citizens.”<\/p>\n
