The works, painted in <b>watercolor and ink on paper,<\/b> consist of individual torn sections that are reassembled, forming a <b>fragmentary reality. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Oversized plant elements coexist with <b>traces of cities<\/b>, skeletons of urban structures, broken bridges, airplanes, submarines and birds, forming an <b>environment reminiscent of fragments of a route or excursion<\/b>, which are linked together in an illogical way. Along with the paintings, three-dimensional &#8220;drawings in space&#8221; made of steel rods are also presented.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.cachefly.net\/tomanifesto\/images\/placeholder.png\" alt=\"efgenia-galanopulu5.jpg\" data-dpc-media-id=\"187479\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.cachefly.net\/image\/large\/94\/efgenia-galanopulu5.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p><b>Yannis Adamakis curates the exhibition and notes:<\/b> &#8220;I am wandering among the works of Eugenia Galanopulu. A morning walk in a dream garden. I struggle to decipher the sensation, the narratives, the <b>small hidden incidents. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I slip, confuse, poke at <b>hidden smiles, at transparent pages. <\/b>I uncover hidden promises behind colored inks. Poems on the leaves. The dew of the earth. An undefined responsibility. An unfulfilled commitment. A thought. A cloud. The sweet nothing. A <b>unbounded immortality,<\/b> no fears, no hours ticking away. <\/p>\n<p>Hiding from eyes that meet, that wait for nights in corners. From <b>from the <b>frequent holiday thoughts. <\/b>The tender insecurity of tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the missing touch. It deconstructs the form. It distorts neatness. <b>Debilitates optimism.<\/b> Debilitates thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Bridges, stairs, wanderers carrying a peculiar burden.<b>Little-known images to be penetrated<\/b>, setting aside idealized landscapes. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.cachefly.net\/tomanifesto\/images\/placeholder.png\" alt=\"efgenia-galanopulu2.jpeg\" data-dpc-media-id=\"187475\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.cachefly.net\/image\/large\/94\/efgenia-galanopulu2.jpeg\"><\/figure>\n<p>Black and white events, come into a <b>&#8220;clashing harmony&#8221;<\/b> with colorful leaves, with tantalizing blossoms. With occult scents. With visual impressions, with shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes they complete their existence, resting on the floor. They acquire material substance. They interact with their shadow. They step out of the plane. They begin to tell their story. Like a line that animates, that provokes, that urges, that seduces. <b>Passing the dew of dawn.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I climb the stairs. I march across <b>dodgy bridges with no destination.<\/b> Height frightens me. Height fascinates me. I struggle on easy paths. <b>I play with time.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I move from shape to shape. <b>I weave the veins of leaves with my thoughts.<\/b> With secret passages. I shuffle torn papers. I shuffle projects again and again.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where do the social couplings lead?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>I drink. Two red lines pierce the night. <b>They cross the dawn. <\/b>The next day. The images that repeat. The stories that relive.<\/p>\n<p>I follow grassy paths. <b>I don&#8217;t sink into foreign footsteps. <\/b>I feel like I&#8217;ve walked them again. What else is there to discover? What stories are waiting to be heard? <\/p>\n<p>In every step a truth. In every step an adventure. <b>In every work a promise.<\/b> Every image progresses, blossoms, wonders, entertains, hides.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Brief biography<\/h2>\n<p><b>Eugenia Galanopoulou was born in Piraeus in 1987. <\/b>She studied <b>Mathematics<\/b> at the Athens School of Fine Arts<\/b> and then studied at the <b>Senate School of Fine Arts,<\/b> from which she graduated with Honours (2020). At the <b>ASKT<\/b> she attended the 1st Painting Workshop with teachers Angelos Antonopoulos and Manolis Merabeliotis, as well as engraving and mosaic workshops with teachers Dina Kotsiou and Daphne Angelidou respectively.
