The prime minister<\/b> remembers the loss of Friday<\/b>, Angeliki<\/b> and Epaminond<\/b>, saying it “becomes a mirror of the suffering brought by the hatred<\/b> of enemies of Democracy<\/b>“.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the tragedy <\/b>of Marfin <\/b>with three dead.<\/p>\n

Remembering what happened on May 5, 2010<\/b> when the black smokers<\/b>“finally took the lives of Paraskevi Zoulia<\/b>, the pregnant Angeliki Papathanasopoulou<\/b> and Epaminondas Tsakalis<\/b>. Three innocent employees<\/b> of Marfin, murdered by divisive rage and blind violence<\/b>“, the Prime Minister stresses that “their loss <\/b>becomes a mirror of the suffering brought by the hatred of the enemies of democracy. A constant warning that nihilism<\/b> and extreme discourse<\/b> are directed against society and the country as a whole.”<\/p>\n

“Our duty, now, is not to forget,<\/b> honoring those who were so unjustly lost. But also to resist<\/b> those who attempt to mine<\/b> normalcy again,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis concludes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It was May 5, 2010 when time froze in the black smoke of the Stadiou. The ones that finally took the life of Paraskevi Zoulia, pregnant Angeliki Papathanasopoulou and Epaminondas Tsakalis. Three innocent Marfin workers, murdered by divisive rage and blind violence.<\/p>\n

Sixteen years later, their loss mirrors the suffering brought by the hatred of the enemies of democracy. A constant warning that nihilism and extreme discourse are directed against society and the country as a whole. But also a measure of the distance we have thankfully gained from the chaos of those days.<\/p>\n

Our duty, now, is not to forget, honoring those so unjustly lost. But also to resist those who seek to mine normality once again. To choose progress from yesterday and, despite the difficulties, to continue to move forward with confidence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
