The Gold Medal<\/a> of the Parliament<\/b> was awarded to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, shortly before he delivered his historic speech<\/b> in the Plenary.<\/p>\n

The Ecumenical Patriarch’s presence was at the invite<\/b> of the President of the Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis<\/b>, while Patriarch Bartholomew’s last speech at the Plenary Session of the Greek Parliament was made 27 years ago in 1999.<\/b><\/p>\n

The historic session was held in the presence of the President of the Republic, Mr.Constantine Tasoulas.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In a difficult international situation due to the crisis in the Middle East<\/b> and the ongoing war in Ukraine<\/b>, the Ecumenical Patriarch’s speech takes on even greater significance.<\/p>\n

The President of the Parliament, immediately after his address, presented the Ecumenical Patriarch with the Golden Medal of the Hellenic Parliament<\/b>, while after the end of the Special Session of the Plenary Session of the Parliament, an official lunch in honor of the Ecumenical Patriarch has been scheduled. <\/p>\n

It is worth noting that this year His Holiness completes 35 years of Patriarchal service and 65 years of priestly mission.<\/b><\/p>\n

On Thursday, 7 May,<\/b>at 17.30, the President of the Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis<\/b>, will address the event entitled “Timelessness and Ecumenism: The Patriarchate of Constantinople in the Modern World”, which will be held in honour of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Pallas Theatre, co-organised by the volunteer group “Roma Acts”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
