The government childcare initiative<\/b> is having a great impact on citizens, according to recent figures released by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family Affairs<\/b>. The response from both parents and prospective custodians<\/b> has been very satisfactory, as modern and safe solutions are sought for the daily life of the family. <\/p>\n
According to the data collected by the morning of Tuesday 5 May, the official platform<\/b> already has 48,135 visits, while 8,534 caches and 125 final submissions applications<\/b>.<\/p>\n
At the same time, interest in the necessary training remains undiminished, with 1,303 people having already completed the relevant online training<\/b> through the howto.gov.gr portal. This trend demonstrates the readiness of interested parties to join the programme, which aims to provide flexible childcare services<\/b> while enhancing professional rehabilitation in the early childhood care sector.<\/p>\n
Minister Social Cohesion and Families<\/b>, Domna Michailidou<\/b>, said: “The response to “Neighbourhood Nannies”<\/b> has been impressive from the very first days of the platform’s operation. Over 48,000 visits<\/b> show that the program is responding to a real, everyday need for parents. We support the mother and the family in practice, where the greatest stress begins: who will safely care for the child when the parent is working, looking for a job or studying. I would like to thank Hellenic Red Cross<\/b> for its contribution to the programme and for the free first aid seminars<\/b> for infants and children, which started yesterday, 4 May<\/b>. The safety of children is our top priority. That’s why we are building a program with rules, requirements, education and accountability.”<\/p>\n
The Nanny Neighborhood Nanny Neighborhood<\/b> program is for families with infants and toddlers ages 2 months to 2.5 years old<\/b>. The Registry of Childminders<\/b> is open to professionals as well as persons from the family’s immediate environment, such as grandparents<\/b>, provided they meet the relevant requirements. Each curator is allowed to provide care services to up to three children at the same time<\/b>, with the consent of the parents, receiving up to \u20ac1,500 per month<\/b> through an employer’s stamp.<\/p>\n
The financial support<\/b> for families amounts to 500 euros per month<\/b> for full-time, self-employed or self-employed parents. For parents working part-time or on a rotating basis, and for mothers who are students, students or registered unemployed, the amount is \u20ac300 per month<\/b>. To participate in the scheme, the annual individual income<\/b> of the mother must not exceed EUR 24 000<\/b> for one child and EUR 27 000<\/b> for two children. For families with three children or more<\/b> no income criteria apply.<\/p>\n
Special emphasis is placed on children’s<\/b> security. Registration in the Register requires, among other things, white criminal records<\/b>, necessary health certificates and first aid certificates<\/b> for infants and children. Those who do not have a relevant certificate can participate in free training<\/b> through ECAB<\/b> and the Hellenic Red Cross. For those without a relevant qualification, a three-hour online training is provided through the howto.gov.gr<\/b> platform.<\/p>\n
The State Minister of Social Cohesion and Family<\/b>, Elena Rapti<\/b>, said: “The great response to the platform confirms that the programme is embraced by society. We are continuing to work consistently so that every child is cared for safely and every family feels that the state is there for them in practice.” Applications for registration in the Register of Trustees are submitted electronically through the ntantades.gov.gr<\/b> platform, using TaxisNet codes.<\/p>\n
