The municipal faction “Athens Tall”,<\/b> referring to an uncontrollable and dangerous everyday life<\/strong> in streets and sidewalks.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the problem <\/b>remains unsolved despite the continuous interventions of the faction since February 2025, but also the repeated remarks in the Municipal Council. <\/b>As highlighted, the city government has failed to implement a clear and effective framework<\/strong>, leaving citizens and visitors exposed.<\/p>\n

Special reference is made to the mayor’s statement that the issue has been “resolved”<\/b>, with Athens Tall stressing that the image of the city completely contradicts this position. The regulatory decision that had been taken was deemed incomplete<\/strong> and eventually cancelled<\/b> by the Departmental Administration,<\/b> with the result, as noted, that the situation has returned “to zero”.<\/p>\n

In the middle of the tourist season, the faction describes a chaotic picture<\/strong>: sidewalks occupied by skates, serious accessibility problems and daily insecurity for pedestrians, drivers and users. At the same time, he cites other municipalities, such as Thessaloniki<\/b>, as an example, where – as he says – specific solutions<\/strong> have already been implemented.<\/p>\n

Athina Vyala is calling for an immediate comprehensive regulation<\/strong> that includes clear rules, intensive controls, designated parking spaces and penalties where necessary.<\/p>\n

“Athens cannot function without rules,” it stressed, with the party concluding that “the inaction<\/strong> is not just a delay, but a conscious choice at the expense of the city<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

The electric scooter situation in Athens remains unchecked and dangerous for pedestrians, drivers and users. Despite our constant reminders, as early as February 2025 and repeated interventions in the City Council, the municipal authority still fails to implement a clear and effective framework.<\/p>\n

One year after Mr. Doukas’ explicit statement that the issue was “solved”, the reality on the streets and sidewalks completely contradicts the assurances. The regulatory decision proved to be incomplete and was annulled by the Decentralized Administration, so that today we are back to square one.<\/p>\n

At the same time, other municipalities, such as Thessaloniki, have already implemented specific interventions in practice, proving that solutions exist when there is a will.<\/p>\n

Athens cannot operate without rules. New, comprehensive regulation, effective controls, designated parking spots and penalties where necessary are required immediately.<\/p>\n
