Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is heading to Amman<\/b> today, Wednesday (6\/5), for the trilateral Summit Greece-Cyprus-Jordan <\/strong>following his visit to Abu Dhabi<\/strong> yesterday.<\/p>\n

Amid the environment of liquidity in Middle East and the Gulf<\/b>, Athens is strengthening the canvas of its moves on the geopolitical chessboard, aiming to highlight its role as a pillar of stability and security in the wider Eastern Mediterranean<\/b> region.<\/p>\n

Greece and Cyprus<\/b> are the countries of the Union that are closest to the events in the Middle East. Athens maintains constructive relations with all the countries of the region, which makes it a reliable interlocutor and a reliable ally and partner.<\/p>\n

As ERT<\/b> reports, in the expanded talks between Kyriakos Mitsotakis<\/b>, President Nikos Christodoulides and King Abdullah<\/strong> of Jordan<\/b> will focus on developments in the Middle East, the Gulf and the Hormuz Strait<\/b>, as well as developments in Lebanon and Syria.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the same time, the relations between the European Union European Union<\/b> and Jordan will be on the agenda, following the discussions at the informal Summit<\/b> in Lefkosia<\/b>, as well as the further strengthening of regional cooperation.<\/p>\n

Greece remains committed to a diplomatic solution<\/b> leading to a sustainable peace<\/b>, as well as to fully ensuring freedom of navigation in the Sea of Hormuz<\/b>. At the same time, investing in regional cooperation schemes with geopolitical and geo-economic added value is a firm strategic choice.<\/p>\n

Assessing the visit to the UAE<\/h3>\n

During Mitsotakis’ meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates<\/b> yesterday, regional developments were discussed, while the two leaders<\/b> proceeded to review the excellent bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

The common interest in the freedom of navigation<\/b>, as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea<\/b>, was also discussed, while the economy and investment were at the forefront.<\/p>\n
