The Gregory Dimitriadis <\/b>was born in Dervitsani<\/b> of Northern Epirus<\/b> and visited the bust of his grandfather, Konstantinos Mitsotakis,<\/b> accompanied by the Prime Minister of Albania<\/b><\/b>, Edti Rama.<\/b><\/p>\n

Dimitriades visited the bust<\/b> of his grandfather<\/b>, Konstantinos Mitsotakis, with the Prime Minister of Albania at his side, Endy Rama,<\/b> the man, after all, who had the initiative and personal curatorship for the creation<\/b> of the memorial<\/b>.<\/p>\n

A monument with special weight<\/h3>\n

The bust of Konstantinos Mitsotakis,<\/b>unveiled in October 2023<\/b>in the square of Dervitsani, is not just an honorary reference. It is linked to the former prime minister’s historic presence in the region, as he was the first Greek leader<\/b> to visit this minority zone in 1991.<\/b><\/p>\n

The choice of location in an area with a strong Greek element<\/b> reinforces the symbolism, while the involvement of Edti Rama<\/b> adds a diplomatic dimension.<\/p>\n

From personal charge to public debate<\/h3>\n

Although the visit was private,<\/b> its publicity triggered reactions<\/b> and different readings. For some, it is an implicit gesture of personal memory and family respect<\/b>.<\/b> For others, the presence of Mr Demetriades and the historical baggage of the site make the image inevitably political<\/b>.<\/p>\n

What emerges, however, is a trend often seen in public discourse: the hurry<\/b> to attribute political motives<\/b> even in moments that bear a primarily personal character<\/b>. This visit was not an official act of politics, but a private gesture of remembrance and honour<\/b>.<\/p>\n
