At a time of heightened geopolitical tension in the Middle East<\/b>, Paris is attempting to take a leading role in ensuring stability<\/b> in one of the world’s most critical sea passages<\/b>. Emmanuel Macron<\/b>, through new communication with the Iranian leadership<\/b>, has put the need to protect international navigation<\/b> in the Sea Strait of Hormuz<\/b> in focus<\/b>, while promoting a joint initiative with Britain<\/b> to set up a multinational security mission<\/b>. The move comes as part of a increased diplomatic effort by France<\/b> to prevent further escalation in the region<\/b>, while the French president appears determined to raise the issue<\/b> at the highest level with the United States<\/b> as well, reinforcing international pressure for stability and the free flow of global trade<\/b>.<\/p>\n

French President Emmanuel Macron<\/b> spoke again on Wednesday (06\/05) with his Iranian counterpart Massoud Pezzekian<\/b>, to whom he emphasized the importance of restoring free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Foundations for safe passage of ships<\/h3>\n

In his post on Platform X, Macron said he urged the Iranian president to see the plans of France and Britain to set up an international mission that would lay the foundations for the safe passage of ships through Hormuz.<\/p>\n

“I invited the Iranian president to seize this opportunity and I intend to discuss the issue with the US president” Donald Trump, he added.<\/p>\n
