{"id":4366,"date":"2026-05-07T07:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T04:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4366"},"modified":"2026-05-07T07:01:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T04:01:00","slug":"pasok-squares-the-circle-the-one-front-against-nd-and-the-winking-at-the-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4366","title":{"rendered":"PASOK squares the circle: the &#8220;one-front&#8221; against ND and the winking at the others&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More and more&#8230; <b>Syriza<\/b> resembles <b>PASOK<\/b> attempting to square the circle of <b>political confrontation.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At the first meeting of the new Politburo, in addition to the intra-party firing aimed at <b>Nikos Androulakis<\/b> and his choices, there was also an <b>attempt to make PASOK act like another&#8230; SYRIZA<\/b> in order to form a line that would characterize <b>ND<\/b> and the government of course, and the rest of the opposition parties as a kind of potential <b>alliances after the electoral battle.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In this context, according to reports, the <b>&#8220;two-front&#8221; fight<\/b> that was set as a tactic and involved a clash with the ruling party on the one hand and with the parties -opponents on the left, existing and upcoming- is being transformed into a&#8230; single-front against ND and <b>a light version that will move in the context of political&#8230; competition.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In essence, the tactic of hard or rather extreme rock against the government is being authenticated with rhetoric that <b>refers to protest parties and indignados of the upper and lower squares<\/b> with plenty of doses of <b>Aurianism<\/b> from the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>The reality is that Nikos Androulakis&#8217; PASOK &#8211; as Haris Castanidis called it, confirming all those who have defined it in a similar way from time to time &#8211; is once again attempting <b>to tread in two boats,<\/b> perhaps this time in three.<\/p>\n<p>On the one hand, he is presenting ND as the &#8220;enemy&#8221; and on the other hand, as a political opponent, the opposition parties that identify themselves as progressive, but with which he <b>does not seek to cause a rupture<\/b> in the context of an imaginary cooperation for the creation of a government after the elections.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that PASOK is avoiding raising its voice. Yes, it <b>accuses Alexis Tsipras<\/b> on a personal level, but <b>does not go to extremes<\/b> while not responding in a similar vein to criticisms from parties and members of the Left.
