EU Trade Commissioner EU Maros Sefchowitz<\/b> has announced that talks with US yesterday, Wednesday, evening on customs tariffs lasted almost six hours.<\/p>\n
Although progress was made, he said, no agreement.<\/b><\/p>\n
“Last night we spent almost six hours in an important trilateral dialogue on the tariffs arrangement implementing the EU-US Joint Statement<\/b> between the European Union and the United States. This significant investment of time and effort shows that we are making substantial progress and we have already achieved a lot, although, of course, nothing is considered agreed until everything is agreed<\/b>,” said Maros Sef\u010dovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
In a message on the LinkedIn platform, he set out his threefold objective, focusing on respecting the agreement and commitments and safeguarding European interests.<\/p>\n
“My objective remains threefold<\/b>. First<\/b>, to prove that the EU keeps its commitments and puts into practice what it says. Second<\/b>, to ensure an outcome that fully respects the EU-US Joint Statement. <Thirdly, to safeguard the interests of European stakeholders, including by equipping the Commission with the necessary tools to ensure that the EU-US Joint Statement is faithfully implemented by both sides." <\/p>\n
