The traffic problem in Attica and the use of electric skates was mentioned by Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis<\/b>, in an interview with the radio station “Parapolitika 90.1”.<\/p>\n
Referring to the new “KOMVOS”<\/b> operational plan for traffic, he noted that the aim is to improve traffic in Attica through the use of personnel, technology and artificial intelligence<\/b>. He said about 150 police officers will operate daily on key roads,<\/b> while the traffic police operations centre will be fully modernised, gathering data from 24 different sources to provide real-time instructions and alternative routes. The project will also involve drones patrolling the basin, with full deployment expected by the end of May.<\/p>\n
For electric scooters, the minister stressed the need for comprehensive planning in collaboration with Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.<\/b> He said the key issues relate to uncontrolled parking, high-speed development, use by adults<\/b> and insurance for drivers and citizens in case of accidents. At the same time, he noted that European practices are being examined in order to establish a safe and functional framework for their use without losing their environmentally friendly character.<\/b><\/p>\n
Finally, referring to tourist buses<\/b>, he noted that the Traffic Police carry out daily interventions in central points of Athens to remove vehicles that cause traffic congestion, stressing that “everyone should respect public space and the social contract of coexistence in the city.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
