Died, at the age of 87, journalist<\/b>, for many years editor <\/b>of the cultural section of Eleftherotypia<\/b> and author Dmitris Gionis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He had been hospitalized in recent days with multiple health problems.<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>The journalist and author<\/b>, who for decades ran the cultural pages of Eleftherotypia<\/strong>, was born in 1939 in Dimitsana, Arcadia.<\/p>\n

At the age of 12, he moved to Athens<\/b>and from 1964<\/b>he became a professional journalist, with a special emphasis on cultural and artistic reporting. From 1964 to 1967 he worked for the newspaper “Democratic Change”.
From 1967 to 1973 he lived abroad, mainly in France and Canada, due to the dictatorship, collaborating with Greek-language publications. After his return to Greece, he was co-editor, together with Fonta Ladis, of the magazine “Tetradio” from 1974 to 1976.<\/p>\n

He also worked for the newspaper “Avgii<\/b>” from 1974 to 1975, while from 1975 and the first day of publication of “Freytherotypia<\/b>” he joined its staff, remaining for decades in cultural reporting. At the same time, from 1976 to 1983 he participated in the reporting of the television show “Paraskinio”.

In his writing career, in 1994 he published the narrative “Now you will see”, <\/b>in 1996 his sequel entitled “The Pavilion”<\/b>, while the trilogy was completed in 1999 with “So and so…”.<\/b><\/p>\n

In 1996 he also published the book “Better to the printer than to the psychiatrist<\/b>“, which includes 18 interviews<\/b> with Vassilis Vasilikos<\/b> over a period of 30 years.<\/p>\n

His contribution to the EESIEA Cultural Foundation<\/b>, of which he was a longtime vice-president, was also significant<\/p>\n
