{"id":4691,"date":"2026-05-08T20:39:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T17:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4691"},"modified":"2026-05-08T20:39:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T17:39:00","slug":"greek-exports-up-by-25-in-march-positive-surprise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4691","title":{"rendered":"Greek exports up by 25% in March &#8211; &#8220;Positive surprise&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-path-to-node=\"1\">The <b>country&#8217;s <b><a href=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/ellada-amhoh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">export performance<\/b> strengthened significantly in March, <b>reaching \u20ac4.94 billion<\/b>, thanks to a boost from <b>fuel<\/b> and <b>food<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Greek <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"43\">exports<\/b> recorded a significant rebound<\/b> in March 2026, showing <b>increase<\/b> of \u20ac986.5 million compared to the same month last year. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">According to data analysed by the <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"228\">Centre for Export Research and Studies (CEEM)<\/b>of the Panhellenic Exporters Association, the total value of shipments abroad reached <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"364\">4.94 billion. EUR<\/b>, up <b>25%<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"2\">Even if <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"431\">petroleum products<\/b> are excluded, <b>the growth remains strong at 10.6%,<\/b> with exports reaching 3.58 billion euros,<\/b> a fact that demonstrates the dynamism of Greek products in international markets.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">This development led to a notable <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"39\">shrinkage of the trade deficit<\/b>, which narrowed by 30.5% in March, retreating to \u20ac2.21 billion. At the same time, <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"174\">imports<\/b> remained essentially flat, showing a marginal change of 0.2%. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">At the quarterly level for 2026, the total value of exports appears to have strengthened by 3.1%, reaching <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"362\">12.52 billion<\/b>, while the <b>trade deficit for the January-March period narrowed by 7.2%<\/b> overall.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">At the <b>industry<\/b> level, <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"22\">petroleum products and fuels<\/b> led the way with a spectacular 93.2% rise, while the <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"107\">food<\/b> sector continued its upward trend with a 16.2% increase. Positive performances were also recorded in <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"206\">chemicals<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"218\">primary materials<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"234\">beverages and tobacco<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">In contrast, there was a decline in exports of <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"297\">industrial products<\/b> and <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"324\">oil<\/b>.
