cyclists in Attica will face significant changes this weekend as the international cycling race \u0394EH Tour of Hellas 2026<\/strong> brings extensive traffic disruptions on central avenues and roads. <\/p>\n

The Traffic Authority<\/strong> has already made the relevant announcements and is urging people to limit their travel in the areas where the athletes will pass. At the same time, it asks drivers and pedestrians to follow the instructions of the police and the organisers so that the race can run smoothly. <\/p>\n

On Saturday, May 9, the traffic interventions will mainly affect areas of Parnitha<\/strong>, Acharnon<\/strong> and Fyllis<\/strong>. From 12:00 to 18:00, traffic will be gradually stopped on major roads in the area, while early in the morning stopping and parking will be prohibited. <\/p>\n

Among others, roads such as E.O. Filis – Neochorakiou<\/strong>, the road Filis<\/strong>, Acharnon<\/strong>, Liosia<\/strong>, the Ancient Theatre<\/strong>, but also parts of Parnithos Avenue<\/strong> up to the casino. In addition, from 08:00 to 18:00, traffic on Parnithos Avenue from the cable car to the antennas will be completely stopped. <\/p>\n

On Sunday, May 10, regulations will be extended to almost all of Attica. The centre of Athens will take centre stage, as from 06:00 in the morning to 16:00 in the afternoon there will be traffic disruptions and a ban on stopping on central avenues. <\/p>\n

Among the roads affected are the avenues Vassilissi Amalias<\/strong>, Basilissis Sofias<\/strong>, Basilissis Konstantinou<\/strong>, Panepistimiou<\/strong>, Akademias<\/strong>, Patissia<\/strong>, Syggrou<\/strong>, Callirrois<\/strong> and Vouliagmenis<\/strong>. Traffic changes will also be in effect in the area of Syntagma<\/strong> and around the Panathinaiko Stadium. <\/p>\n

Problems are also expected in Piraeus<\/strong>, as roads around the port and Poseidonos Avenue<\/strong> will be closed from 06:00 to 12:00. Traffic will be interrupted on parts of Aktis Moutsopoulou<\/strong>, Leophorou Al. Papanastasiou<\/strong>, the road Tzavella<\/strong> and the coastal road to Glyfada. <\/p>\n

Then, the regulations will be transferred along Paralikiia. From Paleo Faliro<\/strong> to Vouliagmeni<\/strong>, Varkiza<\/strong>, Lagoni<\/strong>, Anavyssos<\/strong> and Lavrio<\/strong>, there will be gradual traffic interruptions as the athletes’ peloton passes. <\/p>\n

Traffic is expected to be particularly congested on Poseidon Avenue<\/strong>, Konstantinou Karamanlis Avenue<\/strong>, in Vouliagmenis<\/strong> Avenue and in Athens – Souniou<\/strong>, where there will be long interruptions in both streams in several places. <\/p>\n

Drivers planning to move to the southern suburbs or coastal areas are advised to plan their routes in time and use alternative roads, as delays and increased traffic are expected on many axes in Attica. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
