{"id":4755,"date":"2026-05-09T11:27:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T08:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4755"},"modified":"2026-05-09T11:27:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T08:27:00","slug":"parliament-on-tuesday-12-5-the-bill-on-inheritance-law-will-be-submitted-to-the-competent-committee-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=4755","title":{"rendered":"Parliament: on Tuesday (12\/5) the bill on inheritance law will be submitted to the competent committee (video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"558\" data-end=\"770\"> The new bill of Ministry of Justice entitled &#8220;Reform of <strong data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"652\">inheritance law<\/strong> and other provisions&#8221; was submitted today (9\/5) to the <strong data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"705\">Parliament<\/strong> and is now on its way to parliamentary processing. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"970\">According to the schedule, the draft law will be introduced on Tuesday (12\/5) in the relevant committee of the House of Representatives, while its debate and vote in the plenary session is scheduled for the week after next. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"1159\"> Reports indicate that the provision concerning the faster clearance of court cases in which MPs are involved as defendants was not included in the bill after all. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1339\">As noted, the aim of the new legislative initiative is &#8220;to modernise and adapt the law of succession to modern economic and social needs&#8221;. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive\">  <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1443\">The Bill makes a number of changes and interventions in key areas of <strong data-start=\"1418\" data-end=\"1442\">inheritance law<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1471\">Among other things, it includes: <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1473\" data-end=\"1551\"> a) reforming intestate succession and legal succession, <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1553\" data-end=\"1650\"> b) revising the system for the heir&#8217;s liability for the obligations of the estate, <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1718\"> c) the upgrading of the institution of the judicial liquidation of inheritance, <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1720\" data-end=\"1782\"> d) the simplification of the settlement of the relations between co-heirs, <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1966\"> (e) the introduction of new institutions of inheritance law, namely contracts of inheritance for cause of death, contracts of inheritance waiving future rights to the estate and <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1968\" data-end=\"2047\"> (f) the abolition of institutions of inheritance law which have fallen into disuse. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\n    The new bill of the Ministry of Justice entitled &#8220;Reform of inheritance law and other provisions&#8221; was submitted today (9\/5) to the &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4756,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4755","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-greece"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4755","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=4755"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4755\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/4756"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=4755"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=4755"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=4755"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
