{"id":5204,"date":"2026-05-12T19:20:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T16:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=5204"},"modified":"2026-05-12T19:20:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T16:20:00","slug":"riots-at-the-university-of-west-attica-helmets-sledgehammers-three-injured-eight-arrests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=5204","title":{"rendered":"Riots at the University of West Attica: Helmets, sledgehammers, three injured &#8211; Eight arrests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Scenes of chaos unfolded at <b>PADA<\/b> when <b>hooded<\/b> <b>cowboys<\/b> attacked<\/a><\/b> <b>students<\/b> with <b>injuries<\/b> and the mobilization of heavy <b>police<\/b> forces.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">Severe <b>riot<\/b> broke out on Tuesday afternoon at the premises of the <b>Western University of Western <a href=\"https:\/\/tomanifesto.gr\/attiki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attica (PADA)<\/b>, turning the institution into a battlefield. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">The <b>tension<\/b> started when <b>a group of about ten people<\/b>, carrying <b>helmets<\/b> and with their faces covered, <b>entered the university through the lower gate<\/b>. The intruders, <b>armed with sledgehammers<\/b> and <b>hammers<\/b>, headed to room K4, where they <b>attacked students<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The attack resulted in the <b>injury of three people<\/b>, <b>with one of the students sustaining head injuries<\/b>. After the incident, the injured fled to an adjacent cafe on Demitsana Street, where they were located by authorities. <\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">Emergency ambulances rushed to the scene, which <b>transported the three students to the Thriasio Hospital<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6\">The reaction of the Greek police was immediate, with <b>Facilities of the Rapid Action and the OPKE deployed in the area<\/b>.
