This is an additional 1566 service channel<\/b> that aims to make it easier for patients to access health services and simplify their overall experience in the hospital environment. They are the on-site point of support for citizens within public hospitals, meeting a long-standing need for a simple, human and efficient service in the EHS<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The Field Officers<\/b> act as the first point of guidance for patients and attendants, offering immediate information and practical help on a range of issues that often confuse citizens. Their role is to ease<\/b> navigation through health facilities and make it easier for citizens to understand procedures and properly route their requests, such as locating the correct department and understanding administrative procedures. The Field Officers <\/b>compile another available service channel for citizens as part of the services provided by 1566. With a physical presence on hospital premises, they bring the philosophy and operation of 1566 to where there is an immediate need.<\/p>\n
Daily, Field Officers<\/b> greet citizens on hospital premises, provide general information about available services and direct patients to the appropriate departments. In addition, they provide information and guidance to citizens regarding referrals and appointments, helping them to understand the steps involved and where to go.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the Field Officers<\/b> function is also supportive to hospital staff, as they absorb much of the day-to-day queries and information needs. In this way, they contribute to the decongestion of key service points, facilitate communication between citizens and services and allow medical and administrative staff to concentrate more on their main tasks.<\/p>\n
Today, Field Officers<\/b> have been placed in dozens of hospitals<\/b> throughout the country, both in Attica and in the region, covering university, oncology, paediatric and other specialised departments. The presence of Field Officers in major hospitals is a practical intervention to improve service in public hospitals, offering citizens a clearer and more supportive context during their visit. <\/p>\n
