Strong reactions<\/b> are being provoked by Zoe Konstantopoulou’s<\/b> position<\/b> in the deliberation on the tragedy <\/b>with the two girls<\/b>in Hilioupoli<\/b>.<\/p>\n
From the floor of the plenary session, Konstantopoulou chose to use particularly charged expressions,<\/b> saying, among other things, that “the girls dived into the void” and asking “what is the Parliament<\/b> doing? Leave. Did something break down?”<\/p>\n
She blamed the State<\/b>, claiming that “something wrong<\/b> is going on in this country” and that the two girls were driven into the void because of the failure<\/b> of the state to protect<\/b> them.<\/p>\n
However, the tone and dramatic nature<\/b> of her intervention caused discomfort<\/b> even among people who consider it obvious<\/b> the need for public reflection<\/b> around such tragedies.<\/p>\n

Society is watching shocked<\/b> by what happened in Heliopolis<\/b>. But that doesn’t mean that every tragic event should automatically be put<\/b> into the “meat grinder”<\/b> of political debate, with phrases<\/b> that shock more than they illuminate the substance.<\/p>\n
For many, the public debate around such cases needs more attention,<\/b> especially when it involves adult children<\/b> and families<\/b> experiencing unimaginable pain<\/b>.
