{"id":5517,"date":"2026-05-14T16:54:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T13:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=5517"},"modified":"2026-05-14T16:54:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T13:54:00","slug":"mfaat-e3-6-million-compensation-to-226-farmers-for-smallpox-in-sheep-and-goats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.tomanifesto.gr\/?p=5517","title":{"rendered":"MFAAT: \u20ac3.6 million compensation to 226 farmers for smallpox in sheep and goats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Compensation<\/b> amounting to<b> \u20ac3.6 million<\/b> will be credited today and in the coming days to<b> 226 cattle farmers<\/b>in the regions of Western Macedonia and Western Greece, as announced by the <b>Ministry of Rural Development and Food.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The compensation payments concern <b>livestock that killed <\/b>in the context of the implementation of the measures to eradicate the epizootic disease of smallpox in sheep and goats.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Specifically, in the <b>Region of Western Macedonia<\/b> EUR 164,545.70 are paid to 34 beneficiaries, while in the <b>Region of Western Greece<\/b> 3 are paid.463,804.30 euros to 192 beneficiaries.<\/p>\n<p>As stated in a statement by <b>YPAT<\/b>, on <b>28 April<\/b> the payment of <b>22,757,594.65 euros<\/b> to 849 beneficiaries for compensation to livestock farmers for smallpox and foot-and-mouth disease. With today&#8217;s payment, the compensation paid in 2026 for <b>killed animals<\/b> due to epizootic diseases totals \u20ac26,385,944.65.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on <b>4 April, \u20ac4.4 million was paid.
