Both in terms of defining the path to 2030 and in terms of addressing and managing geopolitical and economic turbulence and developments at the international level that highlight the need for both stability and perspective.

As pivotal as it is on the road to the elections which, according to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the prime minister and chairman of the party, will be held in 2027, although the party is already… alert, something that will be certified at the Congress, where issues directly related to the country’s today and tomorrow in the context of the positions and debates that will be held.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to give the signal for a general campaign for the next polls and at the same time to set the tone of the programme with a horizon of 2030 as a milestone in terms of reforms and breakthroughs. The dominant element of the Congress will be unity and composition with the Prime Minister and President of the ruling party expressing the entire cadre, while also addressing the entire citizenry.

The New Democracy, after all, has shown that it is ahead of the game, as it did when it had to intervene to keep the country in the euro and in Europe at a time when it was on the brink of collapse, and is one of the reasons why it found itself leading the way after the financial crisis.

The reality is that today, after more than a decade of economic crisis and with the New Democracy party completing in about a month seven years of governing the country, Greece is on a different page and this is expected to be stressed by the Prime Minister.

Armed defensively and diplomatically, with a central role in developments in Europe, it is a key pillar of stability and security in Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean as a whole. Energy hub at a time when Europe is reeling from problems caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the war in the Middle East with an economy that caps its overall course.

Esentially the Conference that starts today is an opportunity for the Prime Minister to highlight the work that has been done, to outline the next steps and, above all, to define the roadmap with the vision for Greece 2030, as the Conference’s motto “Together for Greece 2030” describes.

Also, the differences with the opposition will be highlighted, since it is the existence of a plan, proposals and program that will be the basis for the formulation of a positive political agenda based on what has been done. In a tangible work that starts from the economy and reaches health, education and infrastructure.

With an unemploymentat its lowest levels in many years and with investments that pave the way for further growth against the logic of regression.

*This article was published in the print edition of the “Manifesto”

From today until Sunday the 16th Ordinary Congress of the New Democracy takes place.
A party that in its long course in the …

[6

post-5622","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog
["GET
