In April 2026<\/b>, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece<\/b> handled a total of 1.8 million passengers in one month, an increase of 3.2%<\/b> (an additional 56.000 passengers), compared to April 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n

An additional 20,000 additional passengers<\/strong> compared to last year traveled in April 2026<\/strong> via the airport “Macedonia”<\/strong>of Thessaloniki<\/strong>, with their number reaching 646,929 people<\/strong>, increased by 3.1%,<\/strong>according to data released today by Fraport Greece<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Of these, 207,626 travelled on domestic flights (+2.7%)<\/b> and 439,303 on international flights (3.4%),<\/b>with Germany<\/b> (140,094 people), Italy<\/b> (38,849), Cyprus<\/b> (37,950) and the United Kingdom<\/b> (31,173) being the main markets. <\/p>\n

However, the biggest growth<\/b> was noted as that of Poland (25,842),<\/b> while in addition to the key countries from which traffic originated – which also grew, with Italy first and Germany and the UK <\/b>following – arrivals\/departures to and from Turkey<\/b> (17,794 passengers) were also positive. <\/p>\n

Over all, in the four months January-April<\/b>, nearly 2.1 million passengers<\/b> (+4.5%, year-on-year) were carried on 16,055 aircraft<\/b>, of which 1.29 million were on international flights and 796,679 on domestic flights.<\/p>\n

In April 2026<\/b>, the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece<\/b> handled a total of 1.8 million passengers in one month, an increase of 3.2% (an additional 56,000 passengers), compared to April 2025. Domestic passenger traffic in the same month (at the 14 airports) amounted to 640,000 passengers, an increase of 4.9% compared to April 2025. <\/p>\n

And international passenger traffic reached 1.2 million passengers,<\/b> an increase of 2.3% compared to April 2025. Since 2017, the year the 14 regional airports were granted, Fraport Greece has welcomed more than 256 million passengers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
