He, realizing the weight of… “historic” role, he decided to offer us a digital appetizer<\/b> on social media<\/b>, uploading a video<\/b> filled with heartbreaking messages from fans<\/b> shouting “we’re waiting for you President<\/b>” and “announce it already<\/b>“.<\/p>\n

The post’s caption, “In March it was early…”, lays claim to the award<\/b> for most contemporary political melodrama<\/b>. Apparently, in March the “pastures” hadn’t quite greened<\/b> and the fruits of his institute hadn’t ripened<\/b>. But now, with information pointing to early June<\/b> as a milestone, Tsipras<\/b> feels ready to relieve us of our anxiety<\/b>. <\/p>\n

It shudders<\/b> to see how the former MP and president of SYRIZA chooses to present himself: as a modern-day Messiah pressured by the “popular masses” on social media to return to save us<\/b>.<\/p>\n

This staged communications show<\/b> with its choice “you’re the only hope” comments would be almost touching<\/b> if it weren’t coming from the man who in 2015 made the illusory national strategy<\/b>. <\/p>\n

Mr Tsipras<\/b>, with his usual narcissistic ease<\/b>, is building a narrative of “universal demand” for his return, at a time when the majority of citizens are looking at real reforms and stability of the country<\/b>, having left behind the days of easy promises<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Alexis Tsipras<\/b> returns using the likes of a digital courtyard<\/b> as fuel<\/b>. But let someone remind him that the ballot box has no Instagram filters, and in June the “surprise” may not be the one he imagines<\/b>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
