The Attica Region is moving forward with the development of a historic building that had been abandoned for decades, giving it a new identity and transforming it into a modern cultural space<\/strong> for local residents. <\/p>\n

The building in question is the former TYPET<\/strong> in Agios Stefanos<\/strong>, which will be fully renovated through a collaboration between the Region and the Municipality of Dionysos<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The contract was signed by Attica’s Nikos Chardalias<\/strong>, the mayor of Dionysos Katerina Maichosoglou<\/strong> and a representative of the contractor company, at the Regional Administration Building. <\/p>\n

Reconstruction with 2.5 million funding. euro <\/h2>\n

The project will be implemented with co-financing of 2.5 million euro plus VAT<\/strong> through the Attica Regional Development Programme 2026 – 2030<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The intervention includes the complete restoration of the building’s damage and the reconfiguration of the facilities with a total surface area of 2,250 square meters<\/strong>. At the same time, the surrounding area of 11 acres<\/strong> will also be developed to meet the new needs of use. <\/p>\n

According to the design, the renovated building will also include a new indoor auditorium<\/strong>, while all spaces will be fully accessible to disabled<\/strong> and people with limited mobility. And work is expected to be completed by spring 2028<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Nikos Hardalias’ statement<\/h2>\n

The Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias<\/strong>, referred to the importance of the project for the local community, stating: “We are breathing new life into and returning to the community an iconic urban architectural monument, which for decades has been ravaged by neglect. The reuse of an important building and its transformation into a modern cultural space, open and accessible to all, demonstrates the value of the proper use of public resources, but also the dynamics of cooperation between the two levels of government. At the same time, it strengthens the local community, creating a nucleus of creativity, expression and meeting for residents of all ages”. <\/p>\n

Interventions of more than 13 million euros. <\/h2>\n

Nikos Hardalias<\/strong> also stressed that this intervention is part of a wider planning already underway in the area of Dionysos<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

As he pointed out, projects totalling more than 13 million euros<\/strong> are being implemented, which concern critical infrastructure, flood protection<\/strong>, road safety<\/strong>, but also school facilities<\/strong>, aiming at the overall upgrading of the region and the improvement of the daily life of citizens. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
