I have been hearing a debate in recent days about the soul of the Party. I will not comment at all on who and with what motives are initiating, feeding and sponsoring this debate. Since all generations of New Democrats are here today, you who are truly the soul of the Party, I just want to ask yourself: Is not the unprecedented strengthening of the country at all levels interwoven with the soul of the Party? Defence, geopolitical, energy;<\/p>\n
Doesn’t the reduction of 82 taxes for all, at a time when other countries are debating what cuts to make, express the soul of the Party;<\/p>\n
Doesn’t the reforms that have been made and are continuing in the second four years, such as the non-state universities, express the soul of the Party? Is there any greater vindication for the GOP and the UNP for calling them out for so many years? Doesn’t the zero occupation of universities and the fact that now the police normally enter their premises whenever needed, as they do anywhere else in the country, express the soul of the party?<\/p>\n
Does not the increase in incomes for the many – an OECD survey – the reduction of unemployment to the lowest levels in recent decades, and the constant war on precision, with the record fines for obscenity?<\/p>\n
Does not the improvement in all indicators of the rule of law, which was confirmed the day before yesterday by the Commissioner responsible, represent the soul of the party that established democracy? And because I could go on for hours, let’s be clear: The soul of the Party, for 52 years now, is what improves the lives of Greeks. The digital revolution! <\/p>\n
The fast delivery of pensions and their increase! The renovation of hospitals and schools! Their reinforcement with staff! The free “prevent” programs that save thousands of lives! The Greek FBI with its huge successes! The cameras, the breathalyzer tests and the unprecedented reduction in traffic deaths! The great infrastructure projects: Airports, roads, Thessaloniki metro! The reduction in tax evasion that is returning with support measures! The rent rebate every year! Zero income tax for young people! The fence on Evros, the reduction of the flows and the refunds!<\/p>\n
The heart of the Party beats in this room! And it beats louder than ever! And the louder it beats, the louder and more toxic will be the blows from across the street! Because some people cannot stand the absolute domination of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy for more than 10 years. They cannot stand the idea of his third four-year term! They cannot stand the heart of our Party beating loudly! But we are not interested in them! We care about our children! We care about our Country! And for them we will fight and bring in the next elections another victory of the New Democracy! One more self-reliance of Kyriakos Mitsotakis!<\/p>\n
