‘A Man<\/b>, who was driving a private car<\/b>, is alleged to have intentionally injured <\/b>seven pedestrians<\/b> in Modena, Italy<\/b>. <\/p>\n

According to evidence so far, it does not appear that he was under the influence of drugs or in a state of intoxication<\/b>.<\/p>\n

According to Italian authorities, he injured<\/b> eight people, of whom four<\/b> are in serious condition<\/b>. Among them a woman, 55 years old<\/b>, is in a very critical condition.<\/p>\n

The perpetrator, who has been arrested and is being questioned, is 31 years old, was<\/b> receiving treatment and<\/b> was experiencing psychological problems<\/b>, and according to eyewitnesses the car he was driving went up the pavement at dizzying speed<\/b>which may have exceeded 100 kilometres<\/b>.<\/b><\/p>\n

The perpetrator, named Elkundi Salim,<\/b>who has Italian nationality<\/b> and hails from Morocco<\/b>, then got out of the car<\/b> and several citizens who had seen what had happened tried to stop him. Salim took a knife<\/b> out of his pocket and wounded a man<\/b>. Immediately afterwards, police<\/b> managed to stun<\/b> him.<\/p>\n

According to evidence so far, eyewitnesses <\/b>stated that the man had targeted<\/b> pedestrians <\/b>who were on the sidewalk before ending his frenzied run<\/b> into a car window.<\/p>\n

The mayor of Modena<\/strong>, Massimo Mezzetti<\/strong>, described the incident as “dramatic and extremely serious<\/strong>“, stressing that all possibilities remain open as to the motives for the action. At the same time, he thanked the citizens who helped to immobilize the perpetrator, calling it an “act of courage and social responsibility.”<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni<\/strong> described the incident as “extremely serious<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n
