Message of political stability<\/b>, continuation of reforms <\/b>and claiming a third self-ruling <\/b>government term was sent by Notis Mitarakis<\/b> from the 16th Congress of New Democracy, while praising the leadership of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.<\/b><\/p>\n
During his speech, the former minister argued that Greece has finally left behind the period of uncertainty<\/b> and the risk of exiting the Eurozone,<\/b> noting that since 2019 to date the country has recorded higher growth<\/b> rates than the European average, a reduction in unemployment<\/b> and a strengthening of the disposable income<\/b> of its citizens.<\/p>\n
Notis Mitarakis also stressed that the government<\/b> has managed to increase spending<\/b> on Health, Education<\/b> and National Defence<\/b>, presenting the country’s economic and fiscal performance as proof of reliability<\/b> and effective governance.<\/p>\n
Setting the political and economic framework<\/b> for the next period, he said that the main national goal by 2030<\/b> should be the convergence<\/b> of the incomes of Greeks with the European Union<\/b> average, as well as the further reduction of public debt<\/b>. <\/b>As he said, these goals can only be achieved through stability, investment<\/b> and strong institutions.<\/p>\n
He made a special reference to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis,<\/b> with whom he said he had worked at critical moments<\/b> during his tenure at the ministries of immigration and citizen protection.<\/b><\/p>\n
“I was on the other end of the phone with the Prime Minister at the triplex<\/b> and I am proud<\/b> that there was a leader with judgment, knowledge and, above all, patriotic values,” he said.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the Chios MP stressed that New Democracy<\/b> remains the dominant political force<\/b> even after seven years of government, describing the political strength of the government as “an unprecedented success” <\/b>for post-communist standards.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the next elections,<\/b> he called on the party’s cadres to unity and rallying,<\/b>noting that “no one is left over” and that the party has to gain from strengthening<\/b> its institutional and collective functioning.<\/p>\n
Concluding his speech, Notis Mitarakis<\/b> also gave the central political slogan for the next period: “Third term, self-reliance”<\/b><\/p>\n
